OLQOS

Our Lady Queen Of Saints

Home School Support Group

Mission

To support and encourage faithful Catholic families who are called through the vocation of marriage to educate their children at home.

Statement of Philosophy

We are a Roman Catholic Homeschool group, faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. We are family-oriented, relying on the contribution of all members of our group, and offering support to our homeschool parents and their families. We are committed to fostering the virtues in our children and in ourselves through a variety of scheduled activities, including field trips, classes and playtime.

We consider ourselves in complete communion with the Holy Father, all rites approved by the Magisterium, and with the current Catechism of the Catholic Church. We believe that the Holy Spirit continues to guide the Catholic Church, as promised by Christ, and that He is the source of all authoritative changes made over the centuries. We pledge our loyal obedience to the Holy Father, as head of the Church established by Christ.

  • OLQOS fosters devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, in order to grow in imitation of her virtues, especially those of faith, hope and love, humility, obedience, purity, simplicity and collaboration in the redemptive plan of Christ.
  • OLQOS membership is open to all faithful Catholic homeschooling families who have paid their annual dues.
  • OLQOS activities (with the exception of CO-OP) are open to all persons who are supportive of our mission, including non-homeschooling families.
  • OLQOS supports and encourages families in pursuing their own educational approach - traditional curriculum, classical approach, unit studies, unschooling, special needs, etc.
  • OLQOS is a dynamic community that depends on the gifts of all its members. Therefore, everyone is strongly encouraged to serve the organization at all levels, taking family life circumstances into account.
  • OLQOS offers a variety of educational, social, and spiritual activities to meet a wide range of homeschooling needs by relying upon the initiative of its members. All are strongly encouraged to participate, according to the needs of their families.
  • OLQOS believes that open communication, through the appropriate channels, strengthens the community and fosters growth.
